Many of you already know that Paris Hilton went to jail for violating her probation by drinking and driving. The heiress to the Hilton dynasty has made her fame by doing nothing but drinking, partying, and sharing her famous home sex tape that you can find all over the net. She was sentenced to 45 days in prison, and was also told that there would not be any chance of being released early. Poor Paris! I found this quote which talks about how Paris felt. Check this:

Paris says if she goes to jail, even for just a day, her life will be over. She knows she'll lose a lot of work if she gets a reputation as someone who has done time. Her whole career is based on her image and maintaining a fan base - she has nothing else to rely on. She's petrified. She's the butt of quite a few jokes in Los Angeles these days and she hates it. She's been crying a lot, especially when she's been drinking, and is scared that her life is falling apart. She's missed two club appearances in the past couple of weeks. People in the industry are taking her less seriously and she doesn't feel like she's Hollywood's Golden Girl any more. She's more alone than ever before right now and this could be one situation she can't charm her way out of."

I guess some people just live a hard life huh? A millionaire who just parties and waves to the camera is now going to have a mental breakdown because she has to face the music. Although the rich princess was sentenced for her non negotiable 40 days in the pen, somehow her sentence was cut in half due to "good behaviour", or what I call a huge payout. It's ridiculous that because she is a celebrity she doesn't have to serve her full sentence. She also was put in a special cell for high officials, celebrities, or what they call "special people". Why is this woman the center of headline news? Who cares if she has to go to jail for a DUI, when there are probably thousands of drunks that get them everyday? Mika Brzezinski stood up to MSNBC as she refused to read what was to be the leading story of Hilton's jail release over news on the war in Iraq and news from the White House. The video of this has now been viewed by thousands on youtube . After five days in prison Paris was released and reassigned to house arrest where she must wear an ankle bracelet and cannot leave her house due to what they say to be "privacy reasons". So basically after five days the poor girl couldn't take it anymore and faked some sort of medical sickness which allowed her to serve the rest of her sentenced in her Beverly Hills Mansion. Sounds rough doesn't it? This is a definite slap in the face to all who have to serve their full sentence or even people who have been wrongfully accused and have to serve. I guess it's just there to show you how money can change anything. So the lesson learned is...everything has a price and if have the money you can buy anything, even your freedom!

Feeling Fat? Eat this!

Well once again scientists have found away to make more money off the insecure and obese community. Well maybe they are genuinely trying to help but once in the hands of promoters the sickly overweight problem in this day and age will be just about dollars and cents. Italian scientists have created a pill that will make you feel full. This small pill is powdery when dry but once you swallow it with a glass of water it expands into jelly like ball which sits in the stomach for a few hours which has the equivalent feeling of having just eaten a bowl of spaghetti. One of the researchers took the pill at 11am and said he was still "feeling" full at 6pm. Well doesn't this just solve all of our problems! Why spend money on lunch when you can just take a pill? Or now will there become a new disorder like anorexia where influential teens feel the need to look like Paris Hilton and end up taking these pills instead of a healthy lunch which growing adolescents need? Looks like and new epidemic. Investors will get rich off of the pill, doctors from sickly patients, shrinks from insecure and confused patients, and the media from covering this innovative product which looks like it will turn into a few months of news horror stories. Sound like everyone will win. Fat people become skinny and rich people become richer. Even though the pill is perfectly safe, and made from an organic compound called cellulose which allows the jelly ball to disintegrate and be digested, how safe will it be once dieters see the same results as someone that is anorexic? Why don't scientists come out with a device that will allow people to exercise in their sleep? Or how bout this; why don't people just exercise? I don't understand why people allow themselves to become so big that it is uncomfortable and unsafe. There was a woman on the beach the other day that was so big she had to use crutches to walk because she couldn't hold up her own weight. She fell down and literally had to crawl to the water so that she could use the water to help her get up. What if no one was there? She would have been stuck! I guess all she has to do now is just take the magic pill!

When I call my mother long distance to wish her happy birthday or just to see how she is doing it may not be only us on the line. It seems that while we may think we are talking in confidence and privacy there could be someone else on the line listening. Since the devastation of 911 there has been controversy over what is called the patriot act. This has been setup so that government can use unwarranted eavesdropping which is said to be neccessary to detect and catch terrorist. Although this may give some needed security it is in complete violation of not only American's rights but anyone else that may be on the line. The Senate Judiciary Committee has just subpoenaed the White House and Vice President Dick Cheney's office Wednesday for documents relating to President Bush's warrant-free eavesdropping program. Bush has struck again with making up his own rules and "helping" innocent people that haven't asked for any help lol. Whats wrong with this guy? Eariler in the year I had heard on the news how Former Deputy Attorney General James Comey told the Judiciary Committee that Gonzales, who was then-White House counsel had tried to get Attorney General John Ashcroft to sign off on the program so that they could proceed with this illegal program. Ashcroft was against this idea and had set out to try and legalise the act but At the time Ashcroft was in intensive care, recovering form gall bladder surgery. The attorney general that had taken his place while Ashcroft was in the hospital had arrived just in time to find two men huddled around him trying to force him to sign. Lol when he asked them what they were doing they said that they just came to wish him well. Bush will do whatever he wants and the things that kills me is so many Americans are so blind by their pride they look at this guy like he is their savior while all he is doing is destroying the country. If they are listening to our conversations who is to say that they aren't watching us right at this very moment, but hey at least people will be safe from the terrorist that Bush keeps pissing off over there in the middle east. Maybe if he didn't have all his troops down there bombing up the place the U.S. wouldn't hold the ugly reputation it has right now.

The Misconception of Work

Well I have just gotten back from my $15,000 a year university education and luckily have been employed by the major bank here. As I am studying IT I was graciously placed in the E-Business department where I can gain vast amounts of knowledge and experience from well groomed and intellectual technical gurus. Although this is what I had in mine there has been quite a misconception. While I have only been here for a few days I have found myself so bored and nothing to do which is why I actually started this blog in the first place. As I look around I see that I may have a misconception of what work actually is. Maybe thats because everyone here seems to be doing their own thing.....(trying to do as least as possible without getting behind) maybe this is what I went to university for. You try to do as least as possible but still pass the course. I guess that was training for "The Real World".
